Ingrid Hess

Ingird is a highly-respected lawyer in Southern Alberta with more than 25 years of experience practicing criminal defence in Lethbridge, and the surrounding communities. She has done major trial work and is known for representation of clients affected by childhood trauma, FASD and intellectual challenges. She has assisted people with human rights complaints and is committed to ensuring her client’s rights are respected and advocated for.
Ingrid has traveled internationally and experienced a wide range of cultures living in the Netherlands, Germany and Japan. She is fluent in German, French and Dutch and has done professional translation of Dutch and German legal documents and represented French-speaking accused in criminal cases.
Her other interests include Mindfulness Meditation. In 2016, Ingrid completed a one year training program through Warrior One called Essential Mindfulness for Lawyers. With this she has been able to facilitate meditation sessions and has been providing this service to the community and privately to other lawyers and businesses.
Ingrid was born and raised near Lethbridge, and as a long-time resident of Lethbridge, Ingrid remains an active member of the community. She takes a keen interest in events and ceremonies on the Piikani and Kainai First Nations. She currently serves as a board member of the Southern Alberta Defence Lawyers Association and Opokaa’sin Early Intervention Society.
